Super Lewis

I was really honoured to make a cape for Lewis.  I came across Lewis and his family on Twitter and instantly fell in love with this little hero.  Trish, his mum, told me that Lewis loves to watch Toy Story and Chuggington so I made a reversible cape with Toy Story fabric on one side and Chuggington on the other.

Lewis has been diagnosed with severe Quadraplegic Dystonic Cerebral Palsy, Severe gastric problems, Epilepsy, Gastro oesphaegel Reflux Disease, Gross Development Delay, Periventricular Leukomalacia, Early Myopia and has recently been diagnosed with Pancreatic Agenesis and borderline Diabetes.

He is fed via a Gastro-Jejunstomy PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastro-Jejunostomy) which feeds him directly into his small bowel due to an unsafe swallow & severe gastric irritation.  He is attached to a feed pump for 16 hours a day.

He is such a smiler, full of love and laughter, yet cannot live life the way we would all like him to.  He is unable to sit, walk or talk but he is such an amazing little man.  He will smile to all those around him and loves being sung to, watch Chuggington and watching his big brother Adam playing.

Trish is raising money to be able to purchase specialist sensory toys and equipment which are not funded on the NHS.  The NHS only provide basic equipment for children with complex special needs.
